One year since Monticello Fareway employee killed in shooting

MONTICELLO, Iowa (KCRG) - Thursday marks one year since a Fareway employee in Monticello was killed in a shooting.

Nathan Russell is serving a life sentence for killing 48-year-old Aaron McAtee outside the Monticello Fareway, where McAtee worked.

His family says the shooting changed their lives.

Russell also had to pay $150,000 in restitution to McAtee’s estate.
