Iowa marching band members sign NIL deal for second year

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - 19 University of Iowa mellophone section players have signed an NIL deal for a second year. This means the students can be paid when their name, image and likeness is used for marketing.

It comes after the band members made history last year becoming the first full instrument section to receive NIL out of any NCAA marching band when they signed with The Brick Kitchen in Independence.

The kitchenware store announced the second year NIL deal on their Facebook page with Owner Shelly Whited saying, “This collaboration lets us promote these talented students while they support The Brick Kitchen, creating a win-win for showcasing dedication and teamwork both on the field and in our business.”
