Fire destroys Dubuque County home; occupants escape safely

PEOSTA, Iowa (KCRG) - A residence on Cedar Ridge Court in Peosta was destroyed in an early-morning fire Sunday, according to the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said crews were dispatched around 3 a.m. Sunday to a structure fire in the ten thousand block of Cedar Ridge Ct. When responders arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames, but the occupants were able to exit safely.

Officials said the residence is considered a total loss, with an estimated $500,000 in damage. The cause of the fire in unknown but officials do not believe it to be suspicious is nature.
