Allegiant Airlines announces new nonstop Cedar Rapids to Nashville route

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Travelers using the Eastern Iowa Airport now have another nonstop flight option.

Allegiant Airline announced that it will offer flights to Nashville beginning this spring. An introductory rate of $49 each way is being offered on some flights out of Cedar Rapids.

"We're excited to announce another multi-city expansion in service to Nashville," said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. "We're sure folks in all six of these communities will take advantage of these convenient, ultra-low-cost, nonstop flights to enjoy Music City."

Allegiant said the flights will be offered twice a week on a seasonal basis. The new Nashville route is an addition to direct flights the airline currently offers; direct service is also available to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa, Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers and St. Petersburg/Tampa.

The flights begin May 17.
