Eric Bischoff among the 2025 George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling HOF class in Waterloo
WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - The George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame got a few new members on Friday night in Waterloo.
Eric Bischoff is among the 2025 class. Bischoff was the president of World Championship Wrestling, and eventually became the general manager of WWE’s Monday Night Raw.
Bischoff was an on air personality, that saw himself in the ring to wrestle as well.
While with WCW, Bischoff launched Monday Nitro, a trademark show, that was the first of its kind.
“I think it’s the combination of things that I got to be involved with and some of the changes I made to the professional wrestling industry that we’re still seeing today,” said Bischoff. “Back when I launched Nitro, it was a two-hour live format. Nobody else had ever done that before. When I introduced reality storytelling into professional wrestling, no one had ever done that before.“
The Hall of Fame is located in the Dan Gable Museum Wrestling Museum.
The weekend has included pro wrestlers from all over the world and continues through Saturday at the Waterloo Convention Center.
