In Iowa, we help our neighbors. During this season of giving, we recognize that there are people in our midst who don’t have enough to eat. Along with our partners at iHeartmedia (600 WMT and KXIC/KKRQ) we’re working to change that.

Now through November 13, we will collect canned food items. These items, in addition to frozen turkeys, will be delivered by KCRG-TV9 and iHeartmedia staff during the week of Thanksgiving to those in need. If you'd like to make a financial contribution, the Giving More Than Thanks Telethon will be held on Thursday, November 14. Phones will be answered from 5 am to 10:30 pm. We’ll have live updates from the Telethon during all newscasts and the partner radio stations will be doing live remotes throughout the day.

Canned food donations may be dropped off at any of the following locations:

  • KCRG-TV9 501 2nd Ave, Cedar Rapids
  • iheartmedia - Cedar Rapids 600 WMT 600 Old Marion Rd NE, Cedar Rapids 8am - 5pm
