Wieskamp getting used to pace of BIG10 play

IOWA CITY, Iowa. (KCRG) - Joe Wieskamp seems to have made a seamless transition to big time college basketball. He had a perfect stat line in the Hawkeyes' win over Illinois going 8-8 from the field, 6-6 from behind the arc and 2-2 from the free-throw line.

After being the state's top recruit last year its certain that Wieskamp has what it takes to be successful at this level.

"The start of the year in Madison Square Garden you could tell I was a little rushed. I wasn't used to the physicality and the quickness of the game but as the year has progressed, I'm getting used to the physicality in the quickness and I think it's starting to show." Wieskamp said.

"The thing about him is he's never going to take a bad shot." Head coach Fran McCaffery said. "He's a really good shooter so he's got a good percentage of making it every time he shoots it."
