DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - It was a rough day for eastern Iowa teams in the Class 2A and 1A state quarterfinals on Wednesday.
In 2A, North Linn lost to Treynor, 53-44. The Lynx had a rough night shooting from the floor at 26-percent and went 4-for-24 from the 3-point line. Kylie Kurt led the team with 14 points.
Also in 2A, Aplington-Parkersburg lost to Central Decatur, 57-49. Megan Johnson led the Falcons with 17 points.
In the 1A quarterfinals, Springville's chance at a 4-peat ended with a 69-39 loss to Newell-Fonda. The Orioles committed 43 turnovers. Freshman Lauren Wilson had a team-high 10 points.
The one team that did advance to the semi-finals was Marquette Catholic, who defeated Clarksville, 62-49. The Mohawks had three players finish in double figures. They'll play Newell-Fonda in the semi-finals on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
