Northern Iowa rallies, but falls to Pepperdine in NCAA opener

MADISON, Wisconsin (KCRG) - Northern Iowa ended its season in heartbreak with a loss to Pepperdine in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Panthers dropped the first two sets, but rallied to force a fifth. They fell behind 7-3 to start the fifth set, but then came back and tied it, 13-13. Pepperdine responded with two straight kills to win 15-13 and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Northern Iowa finished the season with a 24-10 record.
