Megan Gustafson's roots help her become one of best players in the nation

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Night in and night out, Megan Gustafson deals with double and triple teams, but she has always shown toughness. Where does that toughness come from?

You could say it comes from when she was in 8th grade growing up in Port Wing, Wisconsin.

"We didn't have enough for the boys' team, and so I was able to join the boys' team," said Gustafson. "They never took it easy on me."

Her parents, Eva and Clendon, make the seven-hour trip from Port Wing to watch Megan play.

"She is relentless in everything that she does," said her dad, Clendon.
