CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KCRG) - Bowling has a long history in Cedar Rapids and that history was almost changed a few weeks ago at the Cedar Rapids bowling center.

Alex Brice, a student at Mount Mercy, bowled a 877 three-game series, which falls one pin short of the all-time Cedar Rapids record.

Brice bowled a 298 in game one, followed that up with a perfect 300, and closed with a 279.

"It took a lot of skill and a lot of luck." said Brice. "I've never felt that confident in throwing the ball."

Before this historic night, Brice had never bowled over 800 in his life.
