WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - In years past, you would see Jefferson's Kaylee Donner on the basketball court. But on Thursday, she was at the bowling alley being crowned a state champion.
Donner won the Class 3A girls' individual title after a total score of 476 points. She also had the best single-game score with 257.
And she did all of it in just her first year of competing in high school bowling.
"I was not expecting this at all coming into this," said Donner.
The J-Hawks finished fourth overall in the team standings.
