CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Raya George was expected to be a key piece for the Jefferson volleyball team entering the season. But in the first match of the year, her season ended after tearing the ACL and meniscus in her left knee.
"I knew right away," she said. "I had landed, felt it and thought, 'Darn, it's over.'"
Even though she can't play, she's helped the team with stats and coaching.
The J-Hawks begin the state tournament on Tuesday versus Linn-Mar.
