Iowa with record-shooting game in win over Illinois

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa was able to score at will against Illinois winning 95-71 on Sunday for its fifth consecutive win.

The Hawkeyes shot 68 percent from the field, which is a new Carver-Hawkeye Arena record. The previous record was 67.5 percent versus Air Force on Dec. 28, 2004.

Freshman Joe Wieskamp was perfect from the field going 8-for-8, including 6-for-6 from the 3-point line. He finished with 24 points, tying a career-high.

The Hawkeyes improve to 16-3 overall, 5-3 in Big Ten play, as they get set to host No. 6 Michigan State on Thursday.
