IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa defended its home court all season, including on Sunday versus Missouri in the second round of the NCAA Tournament winning, 68-52. With the victory, the Hawkeyes are headed to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2015.
Iowa struggled out of the gate in the first quarter trailing 7-2, but slowly chipped away at Missouri's lead. The Hawkeyes outscored the Tigers 17-9 in the second quarter and led 33-29 at the break. They never gave up the lead in the second half.
Megan Gustafson had another dominating performance with 24 points and 19 rebounds. Makenzie Meyer tallied 18 points, including four 3-pointers.
Iowa will face either N.C. State or Kentucky in Greensboro, North Carolina in the Sweet 16 on Saturday.
