IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa got its first Big Ten win of the season, but it certainly wasn't pretty. The Hawkeyes held on to defeat Nebraska at home, 77-71.
It was back and forth through the first half, then Iowa took over in the third quarter led by senior Megan Gustafson. She scored 12 of her team-high 28 and the Hawkeyes had a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter. Nebraska didn't go away quietly cutting the lead to two with less than a minute to go. The Hawkeyes were able to secure the victory with some free throws.
Iowa hosts Wisconsin on Monday.
