Iowa State takes down Kansas for Big 12 Tournament title

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCRG) - No matter what happened in Kansas City, Iowa State was already in the NCAA Tournament. But the Cyclones may have helped their seeding after winning the Big 12 Tournament title on Saturday.

The Cyclones dominated Kansas 78-66. . It's their fourth Big 12 Tournament title in the last six years. They also become the first No. 5 seed to win the tournament title.

Lindell Wigginton had a team-high 17 points. Marial Shayok finished with 15 points and was named the tournament MVP.

The Cyclones will find out their NCAA Tournament destination at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
