Historic Hawkeye basketball season falls short against Baylor

GREENSBORO, North Carolina A historic Iowa Hawkeye women's basketball season came to a close on Monday night in a tough match-up against Baylor. Iowa was two wins away from playing in a national championship, but 2019 was the team's longest run in the NCAA tournament in 25 years.

Iowa lost to Baylor 85 to 53. Baylor's size inside was too much to handle for the Hawkeyes, as the top seeded Bears head closer to a championship.

All-American Center Megan Gustafson ended the game with 23 points and nine rebounds. She's also one of only four players in NCAA history to score 1,000 points in a season.

Iowa finished the season 29-7.
