IOWA CITY, Iowa. (KCRG) - Senior Megan Gustafson added yet another accolade to her career list on Saturday as she netted her 2,000th career point in a win vs. IUPUI.
"Its exciting, you know its been wonderful to be able to play in front of the crowd year after year with Carver." Gustafson said. "I have to credit my teammates, I couldn't do any of this without them."
Iowa (7-2) found a tough opponent in the Jaguars who led 33-31 at halftime.
"We know that they are a good team coming in, sometimes you have that emotional letdown after the great victory on Wednesday night against Iowa State, but I think our defense the second half was really good." Head Coach Lisa Bluder commented.
Tania Davis and Kathleen Doyle led the way on defense, each registering four steals.
"They love that part of the game." Bluder said. "Its fun to see them out there in that second half really putting a defensive stamp on things."
Gustafson led all scorers with 32 total points as the Hawkeyes now wait a week before their next action against UNI.
