IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery addressed the comments made on Tuesday by radio announcer Gary Dolphin. The comments were made off-air and specifically mentioned Maishe Dailey.
"I was disappointed with those comments," said McCaffery. "I think when one of our own attacks one of our players, the way he did, it's inexcusable."
McCaffery also said that he has talked with his team about the comments, including Maishe Dailey. "The kid has played extremely well for us. He's played hard. He's a good person. He didn't deserve it."
Dolphin has been suspended for the next two games. Jim Albrecht will take over the play-by-play duties.
