Former Hawkeye Bob Stoops takes head coaching job in XFL

DALLAS, Texas (KCRG) - Apparently, Bob Stoops still has an itch to coach football.

The former Hawkeye and Oklahoma head coach was introduced as the new head coach and general manager of the Dallas-based franchise in the new XFL league.

The XFL will begin play in 2020 and will have a 10-week schedule.

Stoops retired as the Oklahoma head coach in June 2017 after 18 seasons. He's the school's all-time leader with 190 career wins along with 10 Big 12 championships and won a national title in 2000.
