Finals are set in at the state wrestling tournament

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - In the 1A semi-finals Cascades Aidan Noonan kept his undefeated season alive with a 7-0 decision at 113 pounds. Lisbon’s Robert Avila Jr., originally from Las Vegas, has dominated every opponent at 126 and picked a second-period fall in the semi-finals. 152, North Linn’s Brady Henderson is going back to the finals picking up a third-period pin. Brady is hoping to get a state title just like his brother, Brock. Don Bosco continues to dominate this tournament. The Dons have four wrestlers moving onto the finals, including Thomas Even who picked up a fall at 182.

In Class 2A Isaiah Weber of Independence fell behind 4-1 at 113 pounds. Weber with a big second period came back for the fall to move into the finals. At 138 pounds Union’s Jack Thomsen went to overtime tied 1-1. Thomsen came up with a takedown in overtime for the 3-1 win. Jack is trying to join his brothers on top of the podium at state.
