Tania Davis' three gives Iowa win over Iowa State

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Last year, Iowa defeated Iowa State in Ames for the first time since 1989. The last time the Cyclones won in Iowa City was 2006, and they came close to ending that drought.

Both teams battled back and forth, but a three-pointer by Tania Davis with three seconds left gave Iowa a 73-70 victory over Iowa State on Wednesday.

Megan Gustafson recorded another double-double for the Hawkeyes with 13 points and 16 rebounds. She also became the school's all-time leader in rebounds passing Cindy Haugejorde, who set the record in 1980.

Iowa also got a major boost from the return of guard Kathleen Doyle, who finished with 22 points. She'd been sidelined since early November with a hand fracture.

Both teams are now 6-2 on the season.
