Chicago Bulls fire former Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg

CHICAGO, Ill. (KCRG) - The Chicago Bulls have fired former Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg.

This morning Chicago Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson made the announcement of Hoiberg's firing.

In a 5-19 start to the season, the team is currently 14th in the Eastern Conference out of 15 teams.

The Bulls are currently on a six-game losing streak and have only won one of their last 10 games. The Bulls' record is the third worst in the NBA overall.

The Associate Head Coach Jim Boylen has been promoted to head coach.
