CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KCRG) - Central City's Nick Reid scored 76 points in a 86-76 win over East Buchanan, tying for the second highest scoring total in Iowa high school history.
Roy Buchanan has the scoring record 84 points back in 1927.
"It was amazing a credit to my teammates." Reid said. "They are very unselfish, it was amazing because they don't really care who scores they just want to win the game."
Reid's full stat-line ended up 76 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, two blocks and an assists. 23 points came in the fourth quarter including a three-pointer that sent it to overtime.
Nick finally broke his mom Lisa's scoring record of 64 points which still stands at EDCO.
"I hit my three pointer in overtime and she bowed me down in the stands. She was celebrating for me it was pretty cool." Reid said.
