Cedar Rapids native competes against fittest athletes in the world

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KCRG) - Dylan Martin of Cedar Rapids just got back from the Wodapalooza world crossfit championships in Miami, competing in a stadium on the beach against the 40 fittest athletes in the world.

"There were competitors from all over the world." Martin said. "From Europe, Dubai you name it they were people from all over the world competing to try to make it to the CrossFit games."

Martin trained hard for Wodapalooza, he has dedicated his life to crossfit.

"Every competition is different. This one had some real challenges." Martin said. "The events were pretty crazy. Running on the beach on the first day we had a 5K run as well as some swimming in the ocean. That was our first event."

Martin loves a challenge, the harder the better. It all started from his days playing football for Duane Schulte at Xavier.

"For me personally I think the longer the workouts the more grueling." Martin said.
