Baer shines on Senior Day, but Hawkeyes fall to Rutgers

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - It's been a rough week for Iowa. First it was the loss to Ohio State on Tuesday and then head coach Fran McCaffery was suspended for two games after his post-game tirade.

Now the Hawkeyes could be in a free fall after losing to Rutgers on Saturday, 86-72. They've now lost three of their last four games.

The lone bright spot was senior Nicholas Baer, who finished with a team-high 17 points in his final home game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa travels to Wisconsin on Tuesday.
