Amani Hooker ready to face hometown Gophers

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Iowa Hawkeyes coming off a 28-17 loss to Wisconsin two weeks ago.

"We've been grinding since fall camp, started and been in a routine in the building," said senior safety Jake Gervase. "So I think the coaches wanted us to get a little bit of a mental and physical break."

Saturday's game will be a homecoming for junior safety Amani Hooker. He's a Park Center graduate and is the only Minnesota native on the roster.

"Going back home, you got a little chip on your shoulder," said Hooker.

The Hawkeyes kickoff at 2:30 p.m.
