Adam McDermott finds home at Coe after stops at North Dakota and UNI

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Coming out of high school, Adam McDermott was a Division I recruit.

He played at the University of North Dakota his freshman season and saw action in 32 games. He then transferred to Northern Iowa, had to sit out a year, and played in eight games for the Panthers last season. He decided to transfer again, and has now found a permanent home with Coe.

"I was definitely struggling with playing time and stuff like that," said McDermott. "I wanted to find the right spot to continue to play."

"He was definitely welcomed," said former high school teammate Calvin Winker. "He already knew half the guys just from AAU or high school."

McDermott is averaging 11 points a game and is shooting almost 43 percent from the three-point line.
