Madie Baird - Senior at Cedar Rapids Washington HS. Madie balances a full load of coursework with community projects as part of the Iowa BIG program. As part of that, Madie has led or helped with designing a mural at the National Czech and Slovak Museum, creating a virtual reality experience as part of the Guts and Glory World War 1 exhibit at the museum, developing and implementing the Storm Drain Art Project with the City of Cedar Rapids. Madie is focused on a career in STEM. She's also competed in swimming, is co-captain of her golf team and served as President of the National History Day team.
Pavin Esbaum - Senior at North Cedar HS. Pavin's calling is music. He works with his church choir and even filled in as an emergency director for the Christmas concert when the music director fell ill. He's planning to pursue music education at Wartburg. At church, he also helps with the Sunday School and Bible School programs. Outside of music, Pavin has also made honor roll throughout high school, competes on the golf team, volunteers and works with youth sports programs.
Jordan Hanna - Senior, Cedar Rapids Jefferson HS. Jordan has volunteered more than 300 hours at St. Luke's hospital, among other volunteering. She's also starred in the recent high school musical, sings in choir and is secretary for the Interact Club at Jefferson. Jordan is also outstanding in the classroom with a 4.7 GPA, vice president of the National Honor Society and was accepted to the Mississippi Valley Conference Academic Honors.
