CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - Scientists with the U.S. Geological Survey were in Cedar Rapids Monday taking river level measurements. They're working to make sure flood gauges are accurate. Information taken Monday will help them make more accurate flood predictions down river.

The river is now expected to crest at 23 feet Tuesday morning, down about a half foot from earlier Sunday. This will still be high enough to flood parts of downtown, NewBo, Czech Village and Time Check neighborhoods.
