Woman arrested for OWI after vehicle ends up in a home's yard

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) Three people were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash resulted in one of the vehicles ending up in the yard of a northwest side home, according to police.

Jessica Hauptmann, 33, of Cedar Rapids, was charged with operating while intoxicated.

At around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019, the Cedar Rapids Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle that had crashed into a home at the corner of 1st Avenue and 11th Street NW.

When officers arrived, they determined a collision had occurred between a car and an SUV. The SUV had come to rest in the yard in front of a home.

Three people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said that further charges may be pending.

Hauptmann is being held at the Linn County Jail.
