The City of West Union has lifted a water boil order after Utilities Superintendent Scott Johansen said tests results showed the water was safe to consume.

The most recent water tests looked to see if the City's water was contaminated with bacteria.

This comes after the city reported a water main break Saturday off of West Franklin Street.

It is unclear why the water main broke but city officials report it was likely the result of an aging infrastructure.
