Weather-related injuries send dozens to emergency rooms

EASTERN IOWA (KCRG) -- Emergency rooms in eastern Iowa saw more people recently with weather-related injuries.

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City saw 42 people who had fallen on ice over a 48 hour period. Its emergency room also saw seven people who had injuries from weather related car accidents.

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids treated 63 people for falls, another two for frostbite, plus six injuries from car accidents.

St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids says its Emergency Room treated about 20 people for injuries over that same amount of time.
