CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Plan on the thick clouds to hold most of the day. Areas of very light fog may continue at times, too. Highs will be around normal for this time of year in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Plan on quiet weather overall through at least Wednesday night, and possibly into Thursday, though we are going with a slight chance of snow on that day as a system passes to our south.
By Friday and Saturday, our weather will become very active with snow becoming likely. It is too early for specific amounts, but the system itself looks quite significant. It'll turn windy and sharply colder this weekend with a surge of Arctic air likely along with blowing snow. This will be the coldest airmass of the winter season so far and wind chills should go well below zero.
