CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - Drought continues across far southern Iowa, affecting areas from Mount Pleasant to Ottumwa and Bloomfield. This has been persistent and won’t be improving in the near future. A wet June has kept the rest of the area out of drought conditions.
Over the next week, rain chances are going to be pretty slim. It’s unlikely that any weather systems will make it in until perhaps next Friday, when there is a slight chance of showers and storms. The only thing before that is a weak cold front that grazes eastern Iowa on Tuesday. At this point, it appears any rain with that would stay to our north in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
