CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - While areas of flurries or a few light snow showers remain possible tonight, our weather largely stays quiet for the next week or more. One of the somewhat common patterns during an El Niño is a southerly, wet storm track. That appears to be taking shape later this week into the weekend. The other indication is cold for the upper Midwest. Sure enough, over the next week to ten days, our weather remains pretty quiet with occasional cold shots. Nearly all the moisture will stay to our north or south as well. A significant snowfall may occur over the southern states this weekend.
This pattern looks like it could go into mid-December. Weatherwise, it’ll be a good weekend for shopping and other events!
