DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash on Highway 61 south Wednesday.
Authorities say 25-year-old Seth Johnson from DeWitt was driving southbound when he rear-ended a slow-moving semi driven by 78-year-old James Chown from Crivitz, Wisconsin.
After the crash Johnson's vehilce started on fire. Chown said he didn't realize the accident had happened and kept driving until he noticed damage to his trailer at the Walcott Truck Stop.
The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office and Key West EMS responded to the scene.
Johnson and his 22-year-old wife were taken to Mercy with non-life threatening injuries.
The total damage for Johnson's vehicle and Chown's trailer is estimated to be more than $35,000.
Johnson was cited for Following Too Close.
