UPDATE: Identities released of two pedestrians killed in Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - UPDATE 9/17 8 a.m. - Davenport police are identifying the two pedestrians who were killed after being struck by a vehicle on North Brady street, Thursday, September 13th. They are 46-year-old Merle Rudd and 56-year-old Edward Mahedy of Davenport. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE 9/14: Brady Street at 65th Street is back open as of just before 4 a.m. Friday, September 14th after a deadly accident late Thursday night. Davenport police continue to investigate.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two people are dead after being hit by a vehicle late Thursday night on Brady Street in Davenport.

Police responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m.

Their names have not been released at this time. Police say the driver of the vehicle was not injured. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.

Brady Street is shut down from E. 59th Street to Veterans Memorial Parkway. It is unclear when it will reopen.
