UPDATE: Waterloo shooting victim identified by police

UPDATE: Waterloo Police tell TV9 the man killed in Friday's shooting was 33-year-old Fredrick Webber. Friends and family knew him as Dewayne.

Those who knew him said he was always in good spirits, smiling and telling jokes.

As of Sunday afternoon, officers said they were unaware of any arrests related to the shooting, which injured one other man. That person's identity and condition have yet to be released.

Waterloo Police said more information will likely be released later this week.

PREVIOUS STORY:

One of two victims is dead after a shooting in Waterloo on Friday afternoon.

Officers were called to 1200 Ackermant Street just before 4 p.m. for a report of two men with gunshot wounds. The shooting happened near the intersection of Utica and Center Streets and the men drove to the home on Ackermant Street.

The two men injured were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released the names of either victim, pending the notification of family. Police have not announced any arrests.
