Authorities say three people have died in an apparent murder-suicide in southeast Iowa.

Des Moines County Sheriff Mike Johnstone says the shooting took place at a home where authorities had been conducting a sexual abuse investigation. The Hawk Eye in Burlington reports that 60-year-old Robert Inghram Jr. is believed to have shot and killed two adult women inside the home shortly before 5 p.m. Friday. Authorities say they believe Inghram then killed himself.

Authorities say a teenager who was inside the home escaped and called authorities.

Court records show Inghram was charged with third-degree sexual assault in March but released from the Des Moines County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He was ordered not to have contact with anyone in the home.
