CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - Today will be our coldest day in about nine months. Don't be fooled by the sunshine, as highs will only be in the middle 20s. The wind won't be as strong today, coming in at 10 to 20 mph, but that'll keep wind chills in the teens. Lows quickly drop into the teens tonight, then rise a bit toward daybreak tomorrow.
Frosty pattern on window in winter season
We'll be back in the mid-30s tomorrow as a chance of flurries comes in late. Light snow is possible Friday night, mainly over northeastern Iowa. A coating is the most likely situation, although some minor accumulation less than a half-inch is possible near the Mississippi.
We all have a gusty wind to deal with for a good share of Saturday with highs in the upper 20s to around 30.
