Student of the Month: September Finalists

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Meet September's finalists for the KCRG-TV9 Student of the Month, sponsored by Hills Bank and Trust.

Riley Dolan - Sophomore from Lisbon:
Riley spent his summer playing trumpet with the Dubuque Drum and Bugle Corps., traveling the country performing. He spends much of his time practicing to master the trumpet, playing an antique silver one his brother used. Riley also helps his dad care for bees and harvest the honey.

Jacob Hocking - Sophomore from Dubuque Wahlert
Jacob is active in sports, church and community theater. He played the lead in "Happy Elf" and had a role in "Little Mermaid" this summer. He plays on the track and basketball teams, as well as taking part in show choir. Jacob also serves as Eucharist ministry and at vacation bible school for church.

Madison Berry - Senior at Marion
Madison is a volunteer firefighter with the Hiawatha Fire Department and taking classes with the Cedar Rapids and Marion Fire Departments. Madison is also taking medical classes as a part time student at Kirkwood Community College. She also mentors younger students through her school.

Viewers can vote for one of these three outstanding students through Friday. The winner will be announced September 12 and will be featured on the KCRG-TV9 Morning News on the last Tuesday of the month, September 26.
