Student creates fan page for the man making the snow day calls

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) -- A Cedar Rapids Prairie High School student has started a Facebook group that's dedicated to Steve Doser.

Doser is the College Community district's communications director. And he also sends out the messages that tell students if the district's delaying or cancelling classes. And students have been hearing from him a lot this year.

A junior at Prairie started the Steve Doser Fanpage two days ago. It's a place where people can share funny memes or quotes about Doser's calls. And it already has 1,600 members.

"No, I never thought it would get this big. I thought that maybe it would stay at 100 or 200 people. I never thought it would get to the point of as many people as there is," Prairie High School Junior Brittany Long, the founder of the Steve Doser Fanpage, said.

The page has become so popular that a place called Atomic Imprint has created Steve Doser apparel. Twenty percent of the proceeds will go back to the College Community District.
