FORT DODGE, Iowa (KCRG) -- The Iowa State Patrol said a driver claimed he was trying to outrun an impending snowstorm after getting pulled over for speeding, Saturday.

Troopers, known for shaming speeders on social media, made the post later that day.

In it, authorities said a "younger driver" in the Fort Dodge area said he was in a "hurry to beat the bad weather coming to Missouri." That was after a trooper pulled the driver over for breaking the speed limit, going 114 miles per hour. It wasn't immediately clear if the driver was on a highway or the nearby Interstate 35.

Troopers added in their online post, "Slow down, put the phone down, and buckle up!!!!"
