Snow continues through the afternoon, travel tricky south of US 20

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A winter storm will continue to bring difficult travel conditions to much of eastern Iowa throughout Saturday, before tapering off toward mid-evening.

Storm total snowfall accumulations through Saturday evening (KCRG)

Snow overspread most areas south of US Highway 20 during the overnight hours, and that is where most of the snow will fall through the day. Areas north of Highway 30 will drop off toward little snow fairly quickly. To the south of Interstate 80, amounts could reach 4 to 6 inches before things are done.

Winds will be out of the northeast between 10-20 mph, which will cause some minor blowing snow. Travel conditions will be tricky through the daytime hours in areas where snow is falling.

After snow ends this evening, much of the coming week will be dry, with near or slightly above normal temperatures.
