Snow Friday night into Saturday, especially in southern Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Snow will spread northward during the overnight hours, mainly after midnight. Areas north of Highway 20 will have very little if anything by daybreak.

Snow continues into Saturday, mainly for places south of Highway 20. Northern Iowa should see light snow, if that. Snowfall amounts will jump to around two inches along the Highway 30 corridor, with the highest amounts happening south of Interstate 80. Those places will be solidly in the 2-4" range with some higher amounts near 5" possible toward the Sigourney and Washington area. Winds will be light enough to keep blowing snow from being a major concern.

Snow ends early Saturday night, followed by a dry Sunday. Highs will be in the lower 30s this weekend. 30s continue into the first half of the week with 20s to end.
