Cedar Rapids has a buyer for the Smulekoff's building in downtown.

At its Tuesday meeting, the city council voted to sell the building to a developer who plans to turn it into a mixed-used facility that would include office space and apartment units.

The city bought the building from the former furniture retailer $4.7 million in 2014. It will sell it to developer Steve Emerson for $415,000.
