Cedar Rapids Washington High School student arrested after bringing pellet gun to school

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Police arrested a 16-year-old student at Washington High School Wednesday after a report that he had a firearm.

Cedar Rapids police they cleared the classroom as officers searched the student. They found he had a pellet gun in a backpack and was arrested for carrying weapons.

Later, after school dismissed, a fight between several students broke out in the foyer. Three female students were arrested for disorderly conduct. Police said there could be more arrests related to the fight.
