Scattered clouds and cold air for Friday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Temperatures will remain on the cold side again today with wind chills around zero for a few hours early this morning. An area of clouds over north central and central Iowa will drift east today, scattering out somewhat as it does so. Our northwest zone will be especially susceptible to cloud coverage today with partly sunny sky elsewhere. Plan on highs into the mid-20s.

Quiet weather continues through most of the extended forecast as a large ridge of high pressure continues to block our area from any systems that try to enter.

Our next chance of precipitation remains way out there in the distance, moving into Iowa somewhere in the Wednesday or Thursday time period. This system continues to look minor.
